He was predeceased by: his parents, Kurt Schmeling and Annette Schmeling (Dragona). He is survived by: his wife Sandra L. Schmeling (Griffin); his daughter Jacqueline A. Schmeling; and his sister Marcia Schmeling. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
