It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert F. Van Zandt Sr. of Colonie, New York, who passed away on January 22, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, George Van Zandt and Blanche Wawanolette-Van Zandt; his siblings, Jack Van Zandt and Bernice Van Zandt; and his grandchildren, Jessica Van Zandt and Thomas "Tommy" Cox.

He is survived by : his wife Frances Van Zandt; his children, Robert F. Van Zandt, Jr. (Lisa), Robin Van Zandt and Michele Rubino (Joseph); his grandchildren, Cailin Makar, Leah Shewmaker, John Morgan Van Zandt, Erin Van Zandt and Anthony Rubino; and his great grandchildren, Mila Makar, Tristan Shewmaker and Landon Shewmaker. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
