Robert Galazin Obituary
Robert Galazin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the age of 71. He was a long-time resident of Croton-on-Hudson, NY.
Born on December 13, 1953, to the late Mary Balitchik and Stanley Galazin, Robert grew up with a strong sense of community and family. He married the love of his life, Marlene Seelke, on October 12, 1974, and together they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect.
Robert devoted much of his life to service. He worked with the U.S. Postal Service for 38 years before retiring, and he also served the Croton Police Department for 15 years, touching the lives of many with his dedication and commitment. Robert's work ethic and caring nature made him a well-respected figure in his community.
Bobby was an avid Greenbay Packer, Mets and Hunting enthusiast.
Robert's family was the center of his world. He is survived by his devoted wife Marlene Galazin, his cherished son Stephen, and daughter-in-law Azalia, as well as his adored granddaughter Beatrice, who brought immense joy to his life. Robert is also survived by his brother Stanley and wife Mary, his sister Barbara, his brother-in-law Kurt Seelke and his wife Sheila, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. His love for his family and his generous spirit will be deeply missed.
A man of integrity, kindness, and humor, Robert's presence was a comfort to those who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion to his family and his community, as well as a life full of meaningful contributions.
Visiting will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 From 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, April 30th at Holy Name of Church in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, also in Croton.
