He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis and Fred; and his son Michael Canastra. He is survived by: his wife Ri Ho Canastra; his children, Howard Canastra, Jr (Carla) of Kahului, Christine Haglund (Kal) of Tehachapi, CA, Karen Olmo (Jesus) of Burke, VA and Daniel Canastra (Ann) of Cicero, NY.; and his grandchildren, Steve, Windy, Angie, Laura, Olivia, Carter, Quentin and Madeline.
