With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alfred W. Schermerhorn of Delmar, New York, born in Albany, New York, who passed away on January 29, 2023 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Schermerhorn and Madeline Schermerhorn (Wilson); his foster parents, Charles Kleinhans and Alice Kleinhans; his former wife Kay Schermerhorn; his siblings, Richard Schermerhorn of Newburgh, NY. and Sandra Schermerhorn Burke; his daughters, Deborah Knight (Frank), Candace Schermerhorn (Eli Iskow) and Alyce Schermerhorn; his granddaughters, Zoe Makofske (Adam) and Olivia Cacciatore; and his great grandchildren, Wesley and Casey Makofske. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
