He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Holmes and Bessie Holmes; and his brothers, Eugene and Allen Holmes. He is survived by : his friend Joanie Edwards; his children, Celeste Holmes Michel (Kenneth) and Garnet Holmes Stevenson (Jay Stevenson); his grandchildren, Jourdan Stevenson (Thomas Barrett), Aubrey Meyer (Daniel) and Brooke Tinaglia (Jordan); and his former life partner Beverly L. Holmes. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
