He was predeceased by : his parents, Alice McNamara and Stephen McNamara. He is survived by : his wife Sheila; his children, Michael McNamara (Claire) and Maura Birdd (Richard); his grandson Tyler Birdd; and his siblings, Paul McNamara (Karen) and Sally Zorner (Al). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

If so desired, memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
