She was loved and cherished by many people including : her mother Vivian Merrill of Amagansett; her adoptive parents, William E., Alberta Rebecca Spencer (Silver) and Chateaugay; her children, Gary, Kevin and Diane; her half-brother Jim; her significant other Vinny Grimes; her children-in-law, Candido Goncalves and Tami; her grandchildren, Jason, Bryan, Michael, Eric, Wilson, Khloe and Kayla; her great grandchildren, Brooklynn and Jace; her half-sister Hazel Chase (Whittier); her nephews, Todd and Wayne Whittier; and also, Nancy, Jean, Mary, Samantha Staebner (Whittier), John, Diana and Kolton.
The family suggests that donations in Betty's memory be made to either East End Hospice or St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
