As we bid Gertrude farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Gertrude is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her husband Robert; and her sons, John, Edward and Robert. She is survived by: her children, Jeanette (Carol) and Frank (Jennifer); and her daughter-in-law Barbara.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Leo F Kearns Funeral Home (445 E Meadow Ave, East Meadow, NY 11554). A Mass was held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Brigid Catholic Church (85 Post Ave, Westbury, NY 11590). A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood (111 Old Country Rd, Westbury, NY 11590).
