He was predeceased by : his grandsons, Michael, Nathan and Jonathan Ross; and his brother Thomas. He is survived by : his wife June; his children, Joseph II, Michael, MaryEllen Wallace (Scott) and John (Sandy); his grandchildren, Joseph Ross III (Cassandra), Kayleigh Ross, Jacob Ross, Jesse Donaldson, Ashlyn Donaldson, Dakota Wallace and Alexa Wallace; his great grandchildren, Madison Ross and Jayden Luciano; and his siblings, Harriett Scalise (Carmen), Mary Kay Parrone (Edward), Barbara Sanseri and Richard "Terry" Ross (Anna). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
