It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marie Margaret Johansen (Edmeston, New York), who passed away on June 5, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Augustine Murphy and Margaret Murphy (Murphy); her husband Carl Johansen; her brothers, Gerard, Brendan and Dermot Murphy; her son-in-law Warren Cox; and her great grandchild Christopher Briggs-Loy.
She is survived by: her children, Art Johansen (Jody), Carl Johansen (Rita), Maureen Tremaine (Steve), Diane Hait (Norm), Donna Dorminey, Carol Fasano (Ralph), Mary Cox and Laurie Briggs (Seth); her sister Eileen Kay (Allan); and her sisters-in-law, Letty Murphy (Dermot) and Lisa Murphy (Brendan). She is also survived by her 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Marie desired that donations in her memory be made to the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement at Graymoor. A thoughtful donation to a charity of personal significance in her memory would also be a most appreciated recognition of her compassion for others.
