He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore "Edwin" Tainter and Gwendolyn Tainter (Roberts); his brother Theodore "Ted" Tainter; and his nephew Gregory Tainter. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Tainter (Peters); his children, Joni Golden (Paul), Janine English (Jeffery) and James Tainter (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Zachary Golden, Jocelyn Golden, Kaitlyn Tainter, Jacob English, Lucas English, Nathaniel Tainter and Sophie Tainter; and his sibling's children, Monte Tainter and Lori Soto.
