He was predeceased by : his wife Renee Tylim Eck; his former life partner Eileen Greenberg Eck; his parents, Solo Eck and Sabine Eck; his sister Alice; his brother-in-law Sidney Berman; and his niece Diane Saltzberg Kessler.

He is survived by : his children, Sara Eck (Alan Gruber), Rachel Gordon (Scott), Stephen "Spleen" Eck (Leigh Calabrese Eck) and Ilana Eck (Etienne Shanon); his grandchildren, Danielle, Julia, Sydney, Cash Thurston, Jasper, Scarlett and Lyla; his sister Ella Saltzberg; his nephew David Saltzberg (Davida); his sister-in-law Paula Tylim Zwirn (Irv Zwirn); his stepsons, Robert Greenberg (Diane) and Brian Greenberg (Lauren); his stepgrandchildren, Michelle, Callen, Jacob and Ellie; and his stepgreat-granddaughter Emma.
