He was predeceased by: his parents, Pauline Mathis and Louis Pfohl. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth O'Shea; his children, Samara, Tony, Margot and Cynthia; his grandchildren, Benjamin, James, Caroline, Zachary Bilden, Henry and Nellie Erensen; and his sisters, Ann Kirby and Lynn Quigley.
James Mathis Pfohl of Forest Hills Gardens, NY died peacefully surrounded by his family on June 5, 2019 at Waveny Care Center in New Canaan, CT after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
