He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Schwerdt and Marion Schwerdt (Bruso). He is survived by: his children, Juli Biviano of Charlotte, James E. Schwerdt, Jr. of Augusta and Richard Schwerdt of Frankfort; and his siblings, William (Christine Schwerdt), David (Marybeth Schwerdt), Lynda (Jerry Ingraham) and Paula (Scott Thomas). He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
