He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Fierthaler and Margaret Fierthaler (Quirk); his wife Joan Bowers Fierthaler; his sister Peggy Margaret Fierthaler Fleming; his stepchildren, Billy Bowers and Valerie Bowers Bennett; and his stepgrandson Austin Ray.
He is survived by: his siblings, Susan Fierthaler Giampiccolo (Joseph) of New Jersey, Arthur Fierthaler of Florida and Phil; his sister-in-law Frieda Wallace of Virginia; and his stepchildren, Lauri (Bowers), James Rumph, Robert, Faith Bowers and Mike Stoutenborough. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
