Colleen D. Velten Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Colleen D. Velten of Freeville, New York, who passed away on September 30, 2025 at the age of 65. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Colleen may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gordon Gilbert and Janette Gilbert. She is survived by: her husband Eugene Velten; her brother Gordon Gilbert; and her pet Billy. She is also survived by three nieces, many cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cortland Rural Cemetery (110 Tompkins St, Cortland, NY 13045).
