He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Carney and Wilma Mitchell Carney; his stepmother Ruth Carney; his sister Sandra Teller; and his cousin Dale Teller.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy E. Kline; his children, Jason Carney of Friendship, Joseph Carney (Kristina) of Friendship and Heather Bedow (Shawn) of Friendship; his grandchildren, Alexis Keppler (Austin) and Bryce Bedow; and his brothers, Dan Carney (Ellen) of Friendship and David Carney (Pat) of Bolivar. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
