He was predeceased by: his parents, F. William Ernst and Lena Ernst (Ebert); and his siblings, Herbert, George, William, Amos, Ralph, Albert, Hermann, Frederick Ernst, Mary Louise Hammond, Elsie Jackson and Rena Dyke.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Ernst (Gary Brizzie), Dave Ernst and Katie Rich (Steven Hubbard); his sister Betty Cleveland; and his close friend Karen Flewelling (Jean Ventre). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews along with many lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Wilton Funeral Home Inc. (395 Ballard Rd, Gansevoort, NY 12831). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:00 PM at the Maplewood Cemetery.
