He was predeceased by: his parents, John V. Carlson and Edith Ribble Carlson; his siblings, Rosie Calabrese and Gerald Carlson; and his son-in-law Ron Avon.
He is survived by: his wife Joanna DeSio Carlson; his children, Kathy Carlson Avon, Craig Carlson (Carol), John Carlson (Ramona), Ronald Carlson (Jen), Steve Carlson (Giovanna) and Chris Carlson (Debbie); and his sister Patty Carlson Woznick. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions, in his memory, may be made to a charity of one's choice.
