He was predeceased by: his siblings, Peter (Jennie), Barney (Dolly), Herman, John, Albert, Minnie Pruiksma (Sam) and Emma Jellema (Bernard); and his stepgrandson Brian Kohut.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth (Laroe); his father Wayne Van De Weert; his great-grandparent Caitlin Frawley; his stepgrandchildren, Corey Kohut, Eric Kohut and Autumn Kohut; his siblings, Garry (Eleanor), Martin (AnnaMae) and Ella King (John); Joan Adriance (Joseph), Nancy Kohut (John), Dorothy Frawley, Kevin Van De (Robin), Cynthia Van De Weert, Marjorie Adriance (Eric Croote), Beth Brown (Greg), Kenneth De Witte (Roxanne DeFranco), Tractor PopPop, Casey Van De Weert, Tyler Brown, Julianna Brown, Gabriella De Witte, Evan De Witte, Brooke Ellison, Marilyn Van De Weert, Dorothy Van De Weert and Ada Van De Weert. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
