He was predeceased by: his parents, James Newhart and Veda Ross Newhart. He is survived by: his siblings, Connie Compagni (Frederick, Jr.) of Homer, NY and Michael Newhart (Veronica) of Little River, SC; and his half-sister Avon Aiken (Daniel) of Groton, NY. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
