She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Schmitt and Beulah Schmitt; her son John Ovitt; and her siblings, Carol Plumlee, Elaine Bowman, Judy Hellriegel and David Schmitt.

She is survived by: her husband Robert J. "Jack" Ovitt; her children, Jeffery (Erin Murray), Thomas (Renee), Tracy (Kim), Jerry (Pam) and Dennis Ovitt; and her siblings, Joan Balling and Gary Schmitt (Michele).
