Though Joan may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Joan touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Viola Parker and Edward Parker; her children, Suzanne Reek (Joseph), Lorraine LaRocca and Richard Selkowitz (Danielle); her grandchildren, Laren (Joe) and Joseph; and her great grandchildren, Abigail and Indy.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes (125 W Old Country Rd, Hicksville, NY 11801). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church (175 Wolf Hill Rd, Melville, NY 11746). A burial will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the St. Patrick Cemetery (45 Huntington Rd, Huntington, NY 11743).
