He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Schrider and Annie Schrider (Pritchard). He is survived by: his wife Sonia Handzel; his children, Christopher Schrider (Lynn), Jeanette Avolio (Daniel) and Kenneth Schrider (John Litz); his grandchildren, Scott Smith (Lisa), Jennifer Schrider and Dean Schrider; and his great grandchildren, Emilia Smith and Lucy Smith.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Myslinski, Kowalczyk & Nunn Funeral Directors (470 French Rd, Utica, NY 13502). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church (1206 Lincoln Ave, Utica, NY 13502).
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Leonard's name may be made to the NYS Veterans Home at Oxford, 4207 State Highway 220, Oxford, NY 13830.
