He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia; his son David W. Mitchell; his brothers, Frank, Fredrick and James; and his son-in-law Michael Helms.
He is survived by: his children, Michael (Karen), Michele Helms and Marc J. Mitchell; his grandchild Brendan Helms of Nicole Helms; and his sister Grace DeVelder. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
