He was predeceased by: his parents, John McCarthy and Mary McCarthy (Weiss); his wife Carole (Murphy); Richard Murphy and Patricia Dooley (Murphy).
He is survived by: his children, John, Aidan, MacRae, Craig and Michael (Valérie Sourisseau) of Pantin, France.; his sisters, Jeanne Chapman and Marilyn Nutting; Paul Murphy and Regina Werry (Murphy).
Tom's memorial service will be deferred, until the Covid-19 risks diminish sufficiently, and will be held at the Bangs Funeral Home at 209 W. Green St. in Ithaca.
