He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Patterson and Bertha Warden Patterson; and his sister Luella Auge. He is survived by: his wife Paula Johnson Patterson; his children, Tina Patterson (Paul Desnerck) of Falconer, NY, Shawn Patterson (Dawn Freeman) of Jamestown, Krista Miller-Patterson (James Colburn) of Jamestown and Alicia Patterson of Jamestown; and his grandchildren, Jessica Crick (Nick), Gabriel Miller, Dakota Paulisick (Tareek), Shawn Patterson (Paige), Salyna Patterson (Cameron), Toby Patterson and Alexis Patterson. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.
