He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Alford and Floretta Haight Alford; his wife Linda M. "Lovie" Newark Alford; and his siblings, Larry Alford, Sue Morgan and Terry Alford.
He is survived by: his daughter Lisa L. Spunaugle (Al Chapman) of Jamestown; his grandchildren, Russell W. Spunaugle (Heather Stanford) and Dillon R. Lampman; his stepgrandchildren, Charles Chapman (Casey) of Jamestown and Danielle Coone (Randy) of Jamestown; and his siblings, Richard Alford of Jamestown and Joyce Nutt (Dan) of Jamestown.
