She was predeceased by: her parents, Lynn Sears and Louise Johnson Sears; and her sisters, Helen, Joyce and Joan.
She is survived by: her husband Kenneth R. Strickland; her sons, Jim Strickland (Lainey) of Raleigh, NC, Steven Strickland (Ruby) of Lakewood, John Strickland of Charlotte, NC and Timothy Strickland (Lori Thierfeldt) of Jamestown; her grandchildren, Richard, Jessica, James, Madeline and Mara Strickland; and her sister Carol Munson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
