He was predeceased by: his wife Lillian M. "Lilly" Carlson; his parents, Verna J. Mathews and Maynard C. Carlson; his daughter Christina Johnson; his grandparents, Ivan, Irene Vaughn, Carl J. and Neva R. Carlson; and his sister Vicki Jaye Mathews.
He is survived by: his children, Jimmy Berry (Tammy), Angelina Marlett (Steve), Ernest "Boo" Nelson and Tracy DaSilva (Jorge); his grandchildren, Toshia Lockhart, Codie Knepshield, Matthew Berry and Christian Marlett; his siblings, Randy Carlson (Jan), Rick Carlson (Patti), Chad Carlson (Cindy), Cindi Soule (Daniel) and Cheryl Heath; and his stepparents, Jackie Carlson and Jay Mathews. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
