It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alma J. Avery (Johnstown, New York), born in Gloversville, New York, who passed away on September 9, 2021, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Morris Brown and Dorothy Ashton Brown; her husband Robert Avery; her siblings, Frank VanSkiver and Rella Ward; and her stepchildren, Lyman, Bart and Connie Avery.
She is survived by: her children, James Oathout (Helene) of Broadalbin, John Oathout (Sally) of Mayfield, David Oathout (Betsy) of Canada Lake and Darla Dake (Bradford) of Sullivan's Island, SC; her stepchildren, Gary Avery and Gail Holmes; her sister Rebecca Voght (George) of Gloversville; her grandchildren, Lisa Johnson (Tony), Michael Oathout (Donna), Michele TenEyck (Dave), James Oathout (Crystal) and David Ontko (Kayla Lee); her great grandchildren, Brandon, David, Katie, Cameron, Joseph, Luke, Logan, Matthew, Skye and Jacob; and her great great grandchild Colbie. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In accordance with current recommendations, facial coverings and social distancing are required.
