He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Barney Jay and Minnie Degnan Sponenberg; his wife Eloise A. Hedden; his children, David Peter Sponenberg (Judith) of Fonda, Jan S. Prestopnik (Richard) of Fort Johnson, Amy Nadine Sponenberg of Johnstown and Guy Barent Sponenberg (Kathleen) of Gloversville; his grandchildren, David, Rebecca, Jennifer, Barney, Nathan, Emily, Adam, Natalie and Luke; his great grandchildren, Jackson, Sarah, Abigail, Chloe, Douglas and David; and his brother Robert Edwin Sponenberg of Leominster. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
