We are sad to announce that on January 1, 2022, at the age of 59, John M. Bates of Johnstown, New York, born in Gloversville, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Bates and Charity Bates (Beebe); and his sisters, Barbara Thompson, Mary Jackson, Linda Gunneson and Sharon Paul.
He is survived by: his significant other Kellie Bates; his children, John Bates Jr., Samantha Coppola (Chris) and Ashley Bates (Kyle); his sisters, Anna Becker, Debby Bates and Janice Winney (Phil); and his grandchildren, Katelyn, Levi, Christopher, Thomas, Karalynn, Helena and Kyleigh. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
