He was predeceased by: his parents, Darryl Preston and Leona Hutchinson Preston; and his brothers, Ralph, Theodore, Darryl, Merton and Keith Preston.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Knoblauch; his children, Larry Preston (Carol) and Linda VanSlyke of Johnstown; his grandsons, Brett Preston, Grant Preston (Kimberly), Christopher Preston, Matthew VanSlyke (Lisa) and Nathan VanSlyke; and his great grandchildren, Julia Preston, Abigail Preston, Jack Preston, Hailey Preston, Cole Preston, Jackson VanSlyke, Marlia VanSlyke and Preston VanSlyke. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
