She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Knoblauch and Eva Christman Knoblauch; her husband Ronald C. Preston of Johnstown; and her sister Reta Place. She is survived by: her children, Larry Preston (Carol) and Linda Van Slyke of Johnstown; her grandsons, Brett Preston, Grant Preston (Kimberly), Christopher Preston, Matthew Van Slyke (Lisa) and Nathan Van Slyke; and her great grandchildren, Julia Preston, Abigail Preston, Jack Preston, Hailey Preston, Cole Preston, Jackson Van Slyke, Marlia Van Slyke and Preston Van Slyke. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY, or to the Johnstown Reformed Church.
