She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Walter Shimp and Pearl Shimp; her spouse Orin Grant; her children, Carol Schmitt of New Milford, CT. and Brad Grant of Freeport; her grandchildren, Ethan Grant, Hannah Grant, Erik Schmitt, Keith Schmitt and Michael Schmitt; and her great grandchildren, Jordana, Jackson, Juliette, Luca, Quinn, Evalynn, Jemma and Merrick.
In lieu of flowers the family has set up a memorial fund in her name at Walker Mortuary in Freeport. A donation will be made to the Girl Scouts of America in her name.
