He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Doherty and Mary Jane Doherty (Stewart); and his brother-in-law David McGrath. He is survived by: his wife Carol A. Stewart (Kidd); his children, Amy Friess (Michael) and Brian Stewart Doherty (Tiffany); his sisters, Susan Turk (Walter) and Mary Jane McGrath; and his stepchildren, Ray Miller (Joanne), Alan M. Miller (Cylia), Rhonda Dodson (David Meyers) and Daniel Dougherty.
