He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Ackerly and Lynn D. Edwards; his son Carl, Jr.; his brother Wayne; and his sister-in-law Joan.
He is survived by: his wife Louise Edwards; his children, Cathy, Lisa and Misako; his former wife Patricia Thompson; his grandchildren, Wayne, Patricia and Kevin; and his great grandchildren, DiMari and Amylah. He is also survived by many cousins, friends and his beloved canine companion.
