It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wanda D. Oakes of Lyndonville, New York, born in Mays, Indiana, who passed away on April 11, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Osro Draper and Mae Draper (Plummer); her husband James Oakes; and her sisters, Anna Louise and Virginia Joyce.

She is survived by : her children, Darrel Oakes (Linda), Deborah Oakes (Ralph), Diane Thurber (Daniel), Dana Oakes (Paula) and Wendy Wilson (Darren). She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home (112 N Main St, Lyndonville, NY 14098). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Lyndonville United Methodist Church (112 N Main St, Lyndonville, NY 14098).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Wanda's name to the Lyndonville United Methodist Church or Hospice of Orleans, 14080 Route 31 West, Albion, NY 14411.
