He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin B. Powers and Bertha Dillard Powers; his former wife Nora Josephine Coyne Powers; and his siblings, Rennie Turner and Melvin Powers.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy M. Powers; his grandchildren, Michael (Tracy), Christopher (Sarah), Suzanne (Kyle), Daniel, Ian, Alyson, Jared, Jacob, Jace, Victoria (Alex), Marilyn, Robbie and Ethan; his great grandchildren, Grace, Quinn, Leo, Josephine, Louise, Althea, Sadie, Bennett and Eli; and his sisters, Myrtle Malcolm of Virginia and Mamie Joyner of Virginia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
