He was predeceased by: his parents, Solon Shook and Lucille Callahan Shook; and his brother Frederic Shook. He is survived by: his children, John Shook Jr. (Tracy) of Ballston Lake and Melissa Micklas (Jason) of Stillwater; his grandchildren, Theresa, Juniper Shook, Issac, Sabrina and Scarletta Micklas; and his sister Janet Shook of Syracuse.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home (39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at the St. Paul's Cemetery.
