We are sad to announce that on December 12, 2025, at the age of 76, John F. Gumaer Sr. in Mid Hudson, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy John leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though John may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Arthur Gumaer and Rosemary Gumaer (Nelson); his wife Marlene Gumaer; and his children, John F. "Jay" Jr., Karen Seery (Wes) and Kristin Gumaer (Bruce Nordenholt).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. (27 Smith Ave, Kingston, NY 12401). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, December 18th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Montrepose Cemetery (75 Montrepose Ave, Kingston, NY 12401).
