It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Florence D. Young (Middle Island, New York), who passed away on March 30, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Gladys Mae McPherson and Charles Bancroft Hylton; her former husband Wallace Young Sr.; her children, Nadine Witherspoon (Ben), Cheryl Walker (Eddie), Cynthia Manning (Darryl), Wallace Young Jr., Tanya Dozier (Richard) and Heather Berry (James); and her siblings, Yvonne Rivers, Charles, Elmer (Clifton), Bernalcy, Edmund, Victor, Anna (Margie), Edith and Tony.
For the health and saftey of all, visitation hours will be available for an extended period of time from 10:00am until 6:00pm on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, to minimize the risk of COVID19 pandemic and allow for social distancing.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in her memory to Gordon Heights Fire Department Scholarship Fund, Gordon Heights, NY, St. Mary AME Zion Building Fund Tree Leaf, Gordon Heights, NY, and the Witness Project for Breast Cancer, Long Island, NY.
