He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Kester and Loretta Kester; and his wife Gail Kester. He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Braun (Michael) of Sarasota, FL, R. Sean Kester (Paula) of Sarasota, FL and Robin Greg (Tom) of Doylestown, PA; his stepdaughters, Charlene Heschke (Kenny) of Gasport, NY and Yvonne Lane (Christopher) of Lockport, NY; his grandchildren, Jacqueline Braun, Corey Martin (Alicia), Adam Braun, Andrea Braun (Tina), Julia Braun, Olivia Kester, Solenne Greg, Seth Lane and Roman Greg; his siblings, Suzanne Kester and Paul Kester (Lori); his siblings' children, Kaitlyn Cherry (Vince) and Jeffrey Kester (Kristina); and his sister-in-law Jean Vandenberghe (Barbara Branski). He is also survived by several cousins and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert's name may be made to the Middleport United Methodist Church or Middleport Fire Department.
