Though Catherine may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Catherine touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Habernig and Ellen Habernig (Cassidy); her husband Tony Franchini; her son Anthony (Butch); her grandsons, Michael and Jonathan Christie; her siblings, Elizabeth Schneegass, Frances Chiaramonte and George Habernig, Jr.; and her daughter-in-law Christine Christie.
She is survived by: her sons, Robert Christie of New Windsor, NY and William Christie (Robbie) of Rockford. She is also survived by six grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Ferguson Funeral Home (20 North St, Washingtonville, NY 10992). A Mass was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St Mary's Catholic Church.
