He was predeceased by : his parents, John Fitzpatrick and Charlotte Fitzpatrick; his siblings, Helena Mahar and Harvey Fitzpatrick; and his siblings-in-law, Cecil Handrigan, Roberta Fitzpatrick and Geraldine Beland.

He is survived by : his wife Marie; his daughters, Darlene Thompson (John) of Barrie, ON, Lynn Fitzpatrick (Robert Trebble) of Barrie, ON and Shelley Fitzpatrick (Frank McLaughlin) of Burin; his grandchildren, Brittany Wilkinson (Drew), Jake Thompson, Avery Trebble, Jordyn Trebble, Jaxson McLaughlin and Brenna McLaughlin; his great grandchild Wilkinson; his sisters, Marceline Fitzpatrick of New York, Leona Machan (Jerry) of Ontario, Lucy McFarlane (Murray) of Grand Bank and Kate Handrigan of Lord's Cove; his brother-in-law Jim Mahar of Grand Bank; and also, Louis Fitzpatrick of Point May, Raphael Fitzpatrick (Winnifred) and Michelle Hodge.

As per COVID 19 regulations, everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet upon entering the building and masks are required. Due to limited capacity because of the COVID–19 restrictions, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church, Lord's Cove on Monday, April 12th, 2021 at 2:30 pm.

In Fred's memory, in-lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Cemetery Fund, Lord's Cove.
