“I'm so sorry to hear of Joel's passing. I only met him twice, last summer. He was reciting his poetry at The Parkside in Manhattan. His words, delivery, his spirit just stunned me. He was obviously a genius. I made my way through the crowd to shake his hand and told him that was the best thing I'd heard in years. I wanted to hear more. I can still see his smile and his eyes as he shook my hand and he thanked me back. The world lost an amazing mind and beautiful soul. J. Riley Cain”
