He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Propp and Dina Cantor Propp; his siblings, Sidney, Seymour and Josephine; and the parent of his children Sidney.

He is survived by: his children, William (Anna Covici), James (Alexandra Gubin), Sharman (Richard Gans), Donna (Andrew Gold), Marina Franchild and Stanley Propp; his wife Ellen; and his grandchildren, Rebecca, Ezra Gans, Tzula, Jonah Propp, Adam and Eliana Propp-Gubin. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
