He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold W. Holmes and Edith Palethorpe Holmes; his former wife Patricia Carroll; and his stepchildren, David Trost and Donna Pedersen.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Fischer Trost; his daughter Debra Kelly (Gordon); his grandchildren, Brianne, Gordon and Harold Holmes; his great grandchildren, Harold, Elizabeth and Hannah; his stepson Donald Trost (Kimberly); his stepgrandchildren, Rylie, Andrew and Dale Trost (Anne); his children, Carter, Julia and Lindsay; and also, David, Jacob, Deidra Broadbent (Gale), Cody, Hunter, Connor, Ethan and Craig Pedersen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dutchess County.
